Take a walk through the history of 20th-century African-American music with selections from Duke Ellington through Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson.

Leonard Patton, ever the smoky, soulful vocalist, plays in and around the lush piano structures created by Danny Green as the two spin memorable pop standards into a more playful take on jazz. This joining of forces explores the cream of the Hit Parade, reimagining classic jazz and hit pop songs.

With Danny Green Trio members Justin Grinnell (bass) and Julien Cantelm (drums), the quartet uses the familiar as a springboard into a deep pool of originality and improvisation, adding creative twists and turns while maintaining the heritage of the original songs.
