The Nevada Office of Suicide Prevention and the Las Vegas Clark County Library District invite you to attend a presentation of Nevada Suicide Prevention Gatekeeper Training Workshop. The emphasis of gatekeeper training is to increase the knowledge, skills, and resources available to anyone caring for persons who may be at risk for suicide.  Gatekeepers are aware of the warning signs and symptoms most commonly associated with suicide risk and have appropriate resources and referrals to connect at- risk individuals with needed help.  At the end of the workshop participants will be able to:

- Distinguish suicide myths from suicide facts

- Recognize warning signs and symptoms

- Identify protective factors

- Increase ability and willingness to intervene

- Identify referral resources

- Classify postvention activities as prevention efforts

Training provided by the staff of the Nevada Office of Suicide Prevention, Richard Egan, ?Suicide Prevention Trainer and Outreach Facilitator

CE Credit: The Nevada Office of Suicide Prevention offers CEUs for this 2.5 hour workshop at 2.0 credits. Participants receive a certificate of completion to apply to their individual professional board for continuing education credits. Social Workers, Nurses, SNHD EMS, POST, MFT, CPC, ADGCs, and Pharmacy
