Mesquite artist Joyce Burke has been painting and drawing for more than sixty years. She loves to paint the West and enjoys the fellowship of other watercolor artists from the Nevada Watercolor Society. She also started the Sierra Watercolor Society in Reno. Ms. Burke now works in transparent watercolor using a liquid acrylic on wet paper as a base for watercolor interpretation. She has received many awards for her paintings from the Nevada Water Color society, Mesquite Arts Festival, Reno-Gazette Journal, Nevada Artists Association, State Fair and Northstar.
