When The Law Kicked The Mob Out Of Vegas - SPEAKER CANCELED DUE TO ILLNESS
Author: January is Mob Month
Every Tuesday night at 7 p.m. in the month of January, Clark County Library examines the popular culture & history of organized crime with a series of programs featuring former mobsters, law enforcement officials, educators, authors, journalists and eye witnesses-- those who've survived, remembered, were investigated or conducted investigations during the height of Mob influence in Las Vegas & throughout America.
Former Clark County Sheriff Ralph Lamb, whose experiences are being dramatized in the new CBS television series Vegas, will share stories of his time in office, memorable encounters with notorious troublemakers such as the Hells Angels and Chicago gangster/casino operator Johnny Roselli, and his involvement as technical advisor on the TV show. Las Vegas investigative journalist/author George Knapp will conduct the exclusive interview with Sheriff Lamb onstage and moderate the audience Q & A. After the presentation, please join us for a special screening of the pilot episode of Vegas.
All Mob Month events are intended for mature audiences. Book sales/signings will be available at the events with authors. Free and open to the public. Seating is first-come, first-served. Entry wristbands will be issued at 6 p.m. from the theater box office on the night of the program only. For more information, please call 507-3458.
