The Talking Machines

Artist and retired art educator, Richard D. Ramsdell works primarily with transparent watercolor that lends itself to his semi-abstract painting style. His method is best described by fracturing a subject into multiple shapes and spaces, colors and values. In this exhibition, his focus is on machines. Machines hold his interest due to their complexity and capacity to do major reshaping of the land. During the summer, he visited the building site of the future firehouse, #107 and was inspired by the parked heavy equipment on site, creating a series of paintings of the equipment. Richard is a Signature Member of the Nevada Watercolor Society and has received many awards over the years for his paintings.
