Mauro Del Mastro was born in Anzio, near Rome and came to the United States in 1997. He became interested in the process of manipulating metal and started making small sculptures. As a self-taught artist of metal, his basic tools are anvils, hammers, and the knowledge of welding materials together. He has also developed special processes to color the metal and tools to shape the pieces in a refined way. This exhibition represents the artist's variety of subject matter, from ancient artifacts of Rome, Armor, Helmets, florals, wildlife to welding found metal objects together to create sculptures. Mauro also works with sheets of metal by hand to create his expressions in time.
