Q: Can I change my address on-line?

A: No, that is one of the things you'll need to do in person at your library.

You can change your mailing address at your library. Just stop at the front desk with your picture ID, and confirmation of your new address.

If your new address isn't on your driver's license or ID yet, some other items you can use to confirm your new address include:
  • Auto Insurance or Registration
  • Current Utility Bill
  • Lease Agreement
  • Matching name and address on postmarked envelope (postmark must be within 30 days and envelope must be typed - handwritten not accepted)

Q: Can I reset my PIN on-line?

A: You can reset your PIN in My Account. Click on the "Modify your PIN" button.

If you've fogotten your PIN entirely, you can re-set your PIN at your library. Ask at any desk. After the staff verifies your ID (for your protection), they will help you reset your PIN.

If you have forgotten your PIN, and you have registered your email address on your library card, you can send an email from that email account, and library staff will help you reset your PIN remotely (from home or work.) The email address for reset requests is:
ask@lvccld.org

You can register your email address in My Account. Click on the "Modify Personal Info" button.

Or, you can register your email at your library. Just ask at the front desk. The staff will verify your ID (for your protection) before adding the email address to your account.

Q: How do I see what I have checked out, and when it's due?

A: You can see the library items you have checked out in My Account. When you're logged in, click on the "View/Renew Items Checked Out" button, to the left of your name.

If you don't see the "View/Renew Items Checked Out" button, that means you don't have anything checked out right now.

Q: What is Databases A-Z?

A: Databases A-Z is the page where you can search for information in the Library District's databases. You can search several ways.

You can scroll down to the specific database you want to use, and click on the name of the database. That will take you right into that database.

You can type your search terms in the search boxes at the top of the page, and then check off several specific databases. Then click "Go". The computer will search all the databases you've selected, and give you the results. Then just choose the information that looks best for you.

You can also search the databases by topic. If you're not sure which database to use, type your search terms in the search boxes at the top. Then select a general subject from the list just below the search boxes. Then click "Go." The computer will search database on that subject, and give you back all the results. Then choose the information that looks most interesting.

If you have additional questions, please email them to ask@lvccld.org.
