Let the Virtual Library help you help your kids with homework!
How can we make this easier?
- Online Resources have a lot of the information your kids will need. AND, you can use them at home, on your computer! Don't drag the kids to the library to find the articles, diagrams, and facts they need. It's all there, where you need it, when you need it. Even from home. Even late at night. Even when their paper is due tomorrow!
- The Librarian's Brain. A blog by Librarians to keep you updated on the library's databases. Includes tips & tricks for doing research using the library's databases.
- 24 hour access to reference books. Is your child working late on an assignment? Putting the finishing touches on a report? Just needs that one additional fact, before she can go to bed? The Virtual Library has an enormous library of e-reference books, online, at their fingertips.
-
Ask a Librarian Service (email and chat) for those sticky questions. "I'm trying to find a picture of...", "Who was the vice president for...", "Do you have any copies available right now of..." Sometimes your kid needs an answer now, and can't get to the library. The Virtual Library has librarians available to answer their questions, in chat, or by email. We'll find the information, and get them the answers.
- eMedia for work and play. Just because your kid has to spend all that time on homework, doesn't mean you have to! You can read your favorite library books, hear your favorite music, or even watch videos, all without actually going to the library! Just don't tell your kid you're listening to your favorite Janet Evanovich book, or cruising a great new thriller. You've paid your homework dues! You deserve the reward!
