HOW DO I VOTE FOR A BOOK?
- The titles in each category are read and voted on by the young readers from June of the current year through May of the following year. Students may read books in more than one category.
- In order to vote, each student must be exposed to the nominated titles by:
a. Reading the book(s) themselves;
b. Having the book(s) read to them; or
c. A combination of the above.
- Only those students who have read or been read the required number of titles in a particular category shall be allowed to vote. Each student is to vote only once in each category for which he/she is qualified. A student may vote in more than one category.
- Voting must be conducted by a responsible adult. Voting is encouraged in each classroom, each school library media center and each public library. Readers are asked to vote in only one location. After all individual voting is completed, all ballots should be merged to determine the total number votes for each title. Merged ballots should them be submitted, prior to the May 15 deadline, to:
