Top Prize Includes $2,500 + Promotional Opportunities
The Indie Author Project is back this spring! The contests are moving to a new genre-based structure this year versus the previous region-based approach. We are looking for local authors to enter their original work(s) for a chance to be recognized as the top indie-published eBook in their respective genre. This contest is a fantastic way to elevate your writing career and expand your readership.

This year’s contest kicks off on April 1, 2024, and submissions will be accepted through May 31, 2024.
Prizes and Eligibility Include:
The winners of this contest will receive:
- $2,500 to the 1st place winner and $500 each to two runner-ups in each genre
- Honors at the 2024 Indie Author Day reception
- Opportunities to promote your book(s) at public libraries
- Inclusion in a full-page print spread in Library Journal
- Opportunities to earn royalties through the IAP (Indie Author Project) Select collection (ePUB format required for eligibility)
Each book that is submitted to the contest must be:
- Indie-published
- Geared towards an Adult or Young Adult audience
- In one of the following genres:
- Mystery/Thrillers
- Romance
- SciFi/Fantasy
- Historical Fiction
- General/Contemporary Fiction
- Memoir
- Young Adult
- Available in either ePUB (strongly encouraged) or PDF file
