NATIONAL COLLECTION

The items found within this Collection discuss the contributions of African Americans within the United States. Many of these materials are aids for finding information by and about African Americans, including famous African American explorers, scientists, educators, entertainers, doctors, and lawyers. The 18th, 19th and 20th century inventions, accomplishments and challenges are documented through a variety of sources. Information about African American authors can be found in Masterplots and African American Writers. National oral histories, rediscovered writers and the Journal of Negro History are among the research volumes found here.
