Sue Wagner - Excerpts 1 & 2 Transcript
(Reno, Nevada; August 15, 2001)

VC: Anything else at all you want to add?

SW: I - I do. I think that it's unfortunate that - no, I think it's fortunate, in a way, that (SWagner1) Jean neared the end of her day, that she received the recognition, the accolades that she should have received, but I think that it really - this should've been done - this should've been done earlier in life, because she was the same person and I hope that she did not leave us, thinking that they were given to her because it was the end of the day for her, because she deserved that recognition, and I think it's a wonderful thing, and I'm thinking of the Nevada Woman's Fund and I'm thinking of the university system, that she was well enough to be able to participate in these events, (SWagner1) and (SWagner2) I know, for example, the Woman's Fund Hall of Fame, they gave it at a totally different time of year so she could be present, and I think that, you know, a lot of times people die and then people name buildings after them or schools or whatever, but I think that Jean did actually work very hard, I mean, she was just a ball of fire, even then when she was sick, and going to all of these different events and receiving the recognition that I think she really deserved, so that's a good thing, because Jean had some tough times along the way, and at the end, I think, a lot of the people she served with recognized, finally, that she was really somebody that should be remembered in our own history books.(SWagner2)
