INTERVIEWS AND NARRATIVES

Photo - Dorothy EisenbergDOROTHY EISENBERG
Dorothy Eisenberg joined the League of Women Voters in 1964, the year after arriving in Las Vegas from Philadelphia, PA. The League felt like a "home" to Dorothy, and Jean Ford was already one of the officers in the League, presenting committee work and getting women involved.

Dorothy learned from Ford the value of "doing your homework" before speaking on a subject. When Jean Ford decided to run for office, she tapped Dorothy to become her fundraiser. Dorothy believes that Ford "saw something in me that I didn't realize myself". Dorothy became the Chair of the Finance Committee for Jean Ford's election.
