MISSION STATEMENT AND GOALS

To foster citizen participation in grass roots community and political processes by providing resources, stimulating dialog, and becoming a catalyst for community action. Its aim is to provide the tools and materials to encourage citizen participation and to empower individuals or groups as they develop their agendas.

Goal 1: To promote a sense of community through shared information, deliberative dialog, and the identification of common goals.

Goal 2: To provide information on processes and techniques that will help women and men to empower themselves in modern society.

Goal 3: To make Funding Resource Center information available for charitable humanitarian project grant applications.

Goal 4: To develop interest in public leadership by providing information on campaigning, coalition building, lobbying, and advocacy.

Goal 5: To offer resources which inform the citizenry of the history, culture, and politics of Nevada.

Goal 6: To disseminate information on community building, citizen action, fundraising, volunteerism, non-profit board management, campaigning, and women in politics through the library districts web site and other electronic resources.
