Health and Medical Special Collection

Among the Library District´s special collections is the Health and Medical Collection located in the West Charleston Library. This collection offers a wide variety of health-related material, resources, and services to the general public and provides books, videos and audio materials for circulation. The collection also includes periodicals and specialized databases to assist the library user with finding the most current information available. For those with Special Needs:

Seniors with special needs will find their local libraries accommodating with books available on tape and CD-ROM as well as in large print. Libraries also provide easy access, walkers for in-library use and, at West Charleston Library and Clark County Library, a PC/scanner equipped with special blind/low vision software that scans text and reads the text aloud to patrons with vision problems and/or other disabilities that make reading difficult.
